Majorca Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Balearic Islands Drowning

Man in Majorca dies after being hit by unmanned aerial vehicle

Drowning incident sparks safety concerns over drone use

Authorities investigating after tourist killed by drone near Palma de Mallorca beach

A man has died in Majorca after being hit by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), also known as a drone, while swimming in the sea.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon (August 6) at Playa de Palma, one of the most popular tourist beaches on the island.

The victim, a 58-year-old German national, was swimming in shallow water when he was struck by the drone.

The drone, which was being flown by a tourist, is believed to have malfunctioned and crashed into the man's head.

The man was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries.

The incident has sparked safety concerns over the use of drones in popular tourist areas.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in the UK has warned drone users to be aware of the risks of flying drones over people and property.

The CAA has also called for drone manufacturers to do more to improve the safety of their products.

The incident in Majorca is the latest in a number of accidents involving drones in recent years.

In 2017, a drone crashed into a passenger plane at Heathrow Airport in London.

In 2018, a drone crashed into a crowd of people at a music festival in Austria, injuring several people.

These incidents have raised concerns about the safety of drones and the need for regulation.

The CAA is currently reviewing its regulations on drone use in the UK.

The review is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
