Kathryn Grant Crosby, Actress and Widow of Bing Crosby, Dies at 90

Kathryn Grant Crosby, the actress and widow of singer Bing Crosby, has died at the age of 90. Crosby died of natural causes on September 30, 2003, at her home in Beverly Hills, California. She was surrounded by her family at the time of her death.

Crosby was born Kathryn Grant on November 25, 1933, in Houston, Texas. She began her acting career in the early 1950s, appearing in small roles in films such as “Father of the Bride” (1950) and “Pat and Mike” (1952). In 1954, she landed her breakthrough role as Princess Parisa in the fantasy film “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad.” The film was a critical and commercial success, and Crosby’s performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Crosby went on to star in a number of other films, including “The Prodigal” (1955), “Man on Fire” (1957), and “The Naked Maja” (1958). She also appeared in several television shows, including “The Love Boat” and “Fantasy Island.” In 1957, she married Bing Crosby. The couple had three children together before divorcing in 1972.

After her divorce from Crosby, Grant continued to act sporadically. She also worked as a television producer and director. In 1993, she published her autobiography, “My Life with Bing: A Memoir of Love and Loss.”

Crosby was a talented actress and a loving mother and grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Arrangements

Funeral arrangements for Kathryn Crosby have not yet been announced. The family has requested that donations be made to the American Heart Association in her memory.
