Lauri Allan Törni, later known as Larry Alan Thorne, was a Finnish-born soldier who fought with distinction in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Despite his heroic service, his remains were lost for decades after he disappeared in combat.

In 1999, Törni's remains were discovered in Laos. Through DNA testing, they were positively identified in 2003, and his burial took place with full military honors at Arlington National Cemetery on June 26, 2003.
