Former All-Star Set to Join Contender
Lowry to Reunite with Former Coach
Former All-Star Kyle Lowry is returning to his hometown of Philadelphia after agreeing to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers as a free agent, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations.
Lowry, a five-time All-Star and winner of the NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, was recently bought out by the Charlotte Hornets. He reportedly agreed to a three-year, $40 million deal with the 76ers, who are among the contenders in the Eastern Conference.
The signing of Lowry is a major boost for the 76ers, who were in need of a veteran leader and playmaker. Lowry will be reunited with former Toronto Raptors coach Nick Nurse, who is now the head coach of the 76ers.
