Monaco Grand Prix: First-Lap Crash Triggers Red Flag

Race Restarts with 16 Drivers

The Formula One Monaco Grand Prix was halted on Sunday after a three-car crash on the first lap. The incident, which involved Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc, and Carlos Sainz, occurred at the first corner of the race.

Perez, who started from pole position, lost control of his Red Bull at the exit of the corner and collided with the Ferrari of Leclerc. Sainz was then caught up in the collision, which sent all three drivers into the barriers.

The safety car was immediately deployed, and the race was red-flagged. The red flag was lifted after a delay of over an hour, and the race restarted with 16 drivers.

Leclerc Wins After First-Lap Crash

Leclerc, who had led the race until the crash, went on to win the race. The Monegasque driver crossed the finish line ahead of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.

The victory was Leclerc's second at his home race, and it moved him into the lead of the Formula One World Championship standings.
